Tropical Whimsy Classroom Decor

Spirited teachers, if you are in the market for a colorful, vibrant, bright, and breezy classroom setup, then may I suggest Tropical Whimsy classroom decor? So you might find you can use these materials in more than one setup or design. If you switch your themes up each year, you can still pull from this theme as needed.

How to accessorize Tropical Whimsy classroom decor

This colorful, vibrant, and eye-catching theme is paired well with rainbow accents. If you’ve used bright colors in your classroom in the past, then shop your collection before buying anything new. Tropical Whimsy features a bright pink, bright yellow, teal, blue, and purple color scheme. It also features stained glass patterns, watercolors, and florals.

I accented a bulletin board with wood grain paper and a rainbow bulletin board border. Then I topped it off with Tropical Whimsy Classroom Rules Posters. I also decorated my desk with banner pieces from the Tropical Whimsy Classroom Jobs resource. 

If you use book bins in class, basic white and black book bins will work. And if you’ve used bright colors in the past, there’s a chance they’ll fit here, too. Greenery and florals are also perfect additions.

Resources for math centers

Some of the most enjoyable resources to put together are the math resources, geared towards elementary-aged children. Perhaps because I always had a little math classroom anxiety (but secretly love math itself), putting together the Tropical Whimsy Number Line, Colors, Shapes, Numbers, and Telling Time Labels and the Tropical Whimsy Math Fractions, Multiplication, PEMDAS, and Place Value resources were a blast. Side note: It’s typically easier to scale printed materials DOWN to a SMALLER size than to expand them. This is because materials need to contain enough pixels to stretch to the larger size without sacrificing quality. Otherwise you end up with a dotty, scratchy, pixelated resource that’s hard to read or print. If you need to print something larger, you may want to talk with a printing company first. They can tell you if a file can be enlarged or not. If printing at home, then do a quick black-and white draft print first. If you like what you see, then print a full color version.

Classroom organization materials for teachers
