You can make your own World’s Best Chocolate Coffee with cacao (or cocoa) powder, dairy-free milk, allergen-friendly chocolate chips or pieces, and a splash of vanilla and a pinch of cinnamon, if desired. Mornings never tasted so good! {GF + DF}
Friends, is there anything better than a hot cup of coffee? Yes, I believe there is. One with a little chocolate in it. Maybe some vanilla and a dash or two of cinnamon. This is how coffee was meant to be, and it’s here for us now, Spiriteds. The World’s Best Chocolate Coffee has our backs.
I am addicted to coffee and should never be left to make important life decisions until I’ve had a cup or two. I may also be addicted to creamer, of any kind, so it was a natural progression to go from store-bought creamer to throwing a little chocolate into my morning routine.
Seriously, making the World’s Best Chocolate Coffee couldn’t be any simpler, which is perfect for the holiday season, winter, and all the days of the year. Because chocolate knows no bounds. Brew a cup of this and it’s luxury in your very kitchen, at your very own fingertips.
And one day we’ll all be able to sip our coffees within 6 six feet of each other. And when we do, this recipe will be the perfect setup for a coffee bar. Can you even do that? I mean, people have taco bars and crab-stuffed avocado bars (or is that just us?) and spicy deviled egg bars (again, just us?). So, why not a coffee bar? Plus, this is the perfect setup if you have food allergies in your family, are hosting guests who don’t, or want to offer something awesome to anyone who stops by. Think:
- Almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, or cashew milk
- Vanilla or almond extract (a little goes a long way)
- Cinnamon
- Bailey’s
- Chocolate chips (I like Enjoy Life and Chatfield’s brands)
So, sip sip hooray, Spiriteds! We’ve got chocolate and coffee in one tasty recipe! Let’s get sippin’!
THE WORLD’S BEST CHOCOLATE COFFEE INGREDIENTS:
Here are the ingredients to make your own World’s Best Chocolate Coffee. Some of the items toward the end of the list are optional. Sometimes I add vanilla and/or cinnamon and sometimes I don’t.
- Coffee. Pick one you like. It will influence how much of each of the remaining ingredients you’ll want to use in your cuppa joe.
- Chocolate pieces. This is where the magic happens! Add dark chocolate pieces or carob nibs. Or add allergen-friendly chocolate chips. I’ve used Enjoy Life and Chatfield’s brands before.
- Cacao. Unsweetened. Cocoa powder will also work. I add 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
- Dairy-free milk. I like almond milk, but you could just as easily use rice milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk.
- Vanilla. Add a splash but not too much of this optional mix-in. A little goes a long way.
- Cinnamon. Slide a cinnamon stick into the mug of coffee or add a pinch of ground cinnamon, if desired.
HOW TO MAKE THE WORLD’S BEST CHOCOLATE COFFEE:
This is a taste-test-as-you-go kind of recipe.
- Brew 8 ounces of coffee. Add the chocolate pieces and stir them until they melt in the hot coffee. Then add the the cacao and stir until blended. Next pour in the milk. You may need to reheat the coffee at this point. If desired, add vanilla or cinnamon.
- Enjoy while still warm.
OKAY, BUT YOU GOTTA KNOW THIS…
When you make The World’s Best Chocolate Coffee, you gotta work in small increments. Like, we’re not going to go crazy, dumping copious amounts of each ingredient into 8 ounces of coffee. I tried that, and surprisingly (or maybe not surprisingly), it just doesn’t track. The flavor waters down.
So, add each ingredient in small quantities, sneak a taste, and then add a little more, if desired. Then you’ll end up with a balance of bitter goodness and chocolatey delight in one 8 ounce cup of heaven.
And if it’s coffee you like, then put these recipes in your next mug of delicious liquid!
Enjoy your cuppa joe, friends! I’m glad you’re here! ❤️☕️❤️☕️❤️
