It may be freezing outside for some of us, but this Snowflake classroom decor setup is positively warming and inviting. Decorate with snowy accents, leftover holiday decorations you’re not quite ready to put away, or invite your students to help you decorate!
Confession time: when January 1st rolls around, I’m ready for snow to be gone. If I’m feeling patient, I’ll give Mother Nature until January 3rd to get snowstorms out of her system. But living in Iowa means the snowy season is just getting started in the new year. Don’t even THINK about putting limits on Mother Nature’s snow-producing capabilities. She will NOT be put in the corner.
And so here we are. New year, new snow, and the only way out is through (or to move, I guess, if one is so inclined). Since I’m not inclined to move (although living in warmer climates does sound more and more appealing each year), instead I’ll lean right into snowstorm season and decorate for it.
If you’d like to do the same thing in your classroom, then read on, because this Snowflake classroom decor setup is right up your snowy alley.
Snowflake classroom decor materials
The following products are available in the Snowflake theme:
- Snowflake Bulletin Board
- Editable Binder Covers, Spines, and name Tags – Snowflake
- Google Slides Templates – Snowflake
- Snowflake Google Sites Template
Each one features snowy scenes in various shades of blue and gray. And where possible, there are text editable files so you can customize content for your classroom needs. Let’s delve further into what you’ll see!
Snowflake bulletin board
Okay, I’m not gonna lie. I am ALL ABOUT COLOR. Could be bright colors, could be neutrals. Either way, I love me some classroom color. But I worried this bulletin board would be TOO chilly or TOO neutral. Nope. Huh-uh. Not even. This bulletin board pops, if not because of the adorable clipart then because of the navy-gray contrasting combo. For my part, I think it’s both.
Okay, so what did I do? I added a grid paper bulletin board border (found a few years ago at Target). I lined the bulletin board with my trusty wood grain bulletin board paper (pretty sure I found it on Amazon, but local classroom supply stores should have something similar as well). Then I decorated with the bunting from the bulletin board kit. And here’s the thing: I often like to decorate my desk or a doorway with that same bunting. Multipurpose use? Don’t mind if I do.
Speaking of desks, I decorated with blue and white organizers, that I also used to set up my Boho Farmhouse classroom decor theme. A little crossover decorating never hurt anyone’s budget.
Oh, and I featured the cute little snowball friends my mom found at a craft show when I was in elementary school. These goofy little snowballs are OLD, and in surprisingly good condition. They are some of my favorite childhood winter decorations.
Google Slides and Google Sites accents
Another way to integrate a snowy feeling in class is incorporating Snowflake Google Slides templates and Snowflake Google Sites accents. The slides come with headings that include:
- Welcome to Class!
- Morning Meeting
- Our Schedule
- Announcements
- When You Finish
- One More Thing
- Highlights
- Reminders
- Science
- Writing
- Guidance
- Rotations
- Centers
- Art
And MORE! Text editable PowerPoint slides are also included.
The Google Sites accents come with:
- Text editable circle buttons
- Text editable square buttons
- BLANK square buttons
- BLANK circle buttons
- Pre-filled headers
- Text editable headers
- Pre-filled logo buttons
- Text editable logo buttons
- BLANK logo buttons
Please note, you’ll receive PNG files you can upload to an existing classroom website. And PowerPoint slides with text editable accents are also included.
Snowflake classroom decor teacher binder covers and name tags
This might be one of my favorite products ever because not only can you use the desk name plates for, well, desk name plates, but you can also use them for labels on larger classroom organizers. Same with the circle tags. They are great for labeling lockers and cubbies but would also make excellent bunting and door decor accents.
One teacher prints copies of her binder cover sheets for students to organize their science binders. What a cool idea! Start those organizing skills early, is what I say.
In this product you’ll find:
- Binder covers (pre-filled and text editable)
- Binder spines (text editable)
- Circle tags
- Desk name plates
- Table numbers
You’ll need PowerPoint to add text to text editable files.
What about decorating all year round???
You can do that, too. The items in this post are included in the following bundles:
- Seasonal Google Sites Editable Templates Bundle
- Seasonal Teacher Binder Covers Bundle
- The Mega Bulletin Board Bundle
- Google Slides Templates Bundle {Seasonal}
Spiriteds, stay wild, stay warm, and know how glad I am that you’re here! ❄️❄️❄️
