Homemade Pineapple Lemonade

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This Homemade Pineapple Lemonade recipe is a thirst-quenching, sweet, summery drink you can make right in your own kitchen and enjoy throughout the season! Garnish with raw sugar, a lime wedge, or a splash of lime juice! {Vegan & GF}

Lemonade in a glass with fresh lemons and pineapple leaves.

Is there anything more summery than Homemade Pineapple Lemonade? I mean, probably. But this gratifying, thirst-quenching drink is definitely a top five choice. Especially if you stick a little umbrella in your glass. Or take pictures of it with cute kitchen towels.

Spring is technically in full boom, but we’re engulfed in clouds and damp, humid days. Should we wear flip-flops or a cardigan? No one knows for sure. So, for a pick-me-up, we mastered this Homemade Pineapple Lemonade and haven’t looked back.

It’s so good and so flexible. Let the pineapple soak in the lemon juice for several hours or get sidetracked like I do and let everything soak overnight. Guess what? It’ll still taste incredible! Garnish with raw sugar or drink as is. This citrusy beverage isn’t complicated, but it will smack your tastebuds around. And in only the best way, of course. When lemon and pineapple get together a little tastebud smacking is to be expected.

Another note? Instead of adding water to the mixture, add ice cubes to your drink just prior to serving. The ice cubes will neutralize the flavor as they melt, and all without watering down your drink.

So grab your umbrellas or cute towels or maybe a few mason jars, and let’s get smacking!

HOMEMADE PINEAPPLE LEMONADE INGREDIENTS:

Although this recipe isn’t difficult, I do highly suggest using fresh pineapple. The juices will naturally sweeten the drink.

  • Fresh pineapple. I cut the pineapple into cubes.
  • Lemon juice. You can either use freshly squeezed lemon juice or buy store-bought.
  • Agave nectar. I love this ingredient for sweet, cool drinks because it dissolves easily in the juice. You can also use honey, if you like, for a paleo-friendly option.
  • Garnishes: raw sugar, a spritz of lime juice, a lime wedge, or a lemon wedge. Cute towels optional.
  • Equipment: Either a mixing bowl or mason jars for soaking the pineapple and lemon juice together.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PINEAPPLE LEMONADE:

  1. Cut a fresh pineapple into chunks. Put the pineapple chunks into the lemon juice, add the agave nectar, and then stir everything together.
  2. Let the mixture chill for at least a few hours to overnight.
  3. Remove the pineapple chunks prior to serving, add ice cubes, and enjoy!
  4. Garnish with raw sugar, lemon or lime wedges, or a splash of lime juice!

PRO TIP:

Instead of pouring water into the pineapple/lemonade combo, let the ice cubes do the work. As the cubes melt, they’ll dilute the tartness without watering down your drink! Add more or fewer pieces of ice depending on how mild or strong you want your drink to be.
