Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 12 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 onion, any color, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 1 pint tomatoes, halved, or 1 tomato, diced
  • 56 cups loosely packed shredded lettuce
  • Dill pickle slices

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, scramble the hamburger. As it starts to brown, then add the coconut oil, garlic powder, onion salt, sea salt, diced onion, and pressed garlic.
  2. Once the hamburger has browned, remove from heat and stir in the grape tomatoes. Then, using a slotted spoon, transfer the hamburger mixture to a large mixing bowl. Next, toss the hamburger with chopped lettuce and then top with dill pickle slices and any dressings as desired.
  3. Consume within 24 hours.

    Notes

    • If the hamburger is already high in fat, you may not need as much (or any) coconut oil. If the hamburger is low in fat or starts to dry out as it cooks, then you may need more coconut oil.
    • Just about any lettuce or leafy green variety will work, including iceberg, romaine, butterhead, and even spinach.
    • If you prefer not to toss all the ingredients together, you can layer them instead.
