Blackberry Lemon Sparkling Water is a delicious, thirst-quenching, non-alcoholic beverage! Add your choice of sweetener, a splash of lemon juice, and you’re set to go! {Gluten-Free + Vegan-Friendly}

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 ounces fresh blackberries
  • 23 tablespoons sweetener (See Notes)
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice (See Notes)
  • 12 oz. can lemon-flavored sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish with fresh lemons slices, if desired

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, blackberries, and sweetener to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until the blackberries soften and are easily mashed with a spoon or potato masher. Remove from heat to cool.
  2. When the blackberry mixture is cool enough to handle, press the mixture through a mesh strainer into a bowl. Press down on the blackberries using the rounded side of a spoon. This will extract as much of the liquid from the pulp as possible. Add the lemon juice to the blackberry liquid and continue to let cool.
  3. Spoon 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup blackberry mixture into 8-ounce drinking glasses. Then top with ice cubes and pour sparkling water over the ice. Garnish with slices of fresh lemon.
  4. For best results, do not mix the blackberry mixture and sparkling water together until just prior to serving. Store leftover blackberry juice in a glass jar for about 24 hours and then add it to a glass with ice, sparkling water, and garnishes when you’d like a refreshing sip.

  • Agave nectar works well in the recipe. However, you can also try 100% pure maple syrup or 100% pure honey. A sprinkle of monkfruit sweetener is another option, as is stevia.
  • Add the lemon juice in small splashes, such as 1/2 tablespoon, and add more only as desired.
  • Yield is an approximation.
